Rich Eckhardt Interview: Toby Keith, “Be more open to people…”

Great stories about how he got the gig with Toby Keith, playing with Steven Tyler & Joe Perry from Aerosmith… getting through some difficult times, during which he did not pick up his guitar for 6 months, and how he wound up coming out of this… why he’s NEVER sold a guitar… surviving divorce & many more cool stories. GREAT convo, 100% REAL

Rich has literally toured the world with Toby Keith over the last 20 years as his lead guitarist. Along the way, he released two solo records, acted on the hit TV series Nashville, for 4 years… and has played with Willie Nelson, Ted Nugent, Sammy Hagar, & loads of others. Ted Nugent named Rich as one of his favorite guitarists

  3. Rich, I Want to extend my sincerest sympathy to you and the band for the loss of your friend Toby. He told me he considered you all for his brothers and he got a kick out of your last get together at his house. I’ll be missing him and his wicked sense of humor. He sure could be ornery Couldn’t he? That’s what I loved about him. I’ll be missing him along with you all. Take care
